In 2007 Copmanthorpe Carnival teamed up with Minster FM and transformed the event in to a Music Festival. This will be the Fourth year Minster FM are once again onboard and will be broadcasting live from Copmanthorpe Carnival and will be featuring all the Carnival’s Bands live from our studio’s tune in to find out more.

We can provide interviews with the bands and community groups and are very pleased to have the Julian Sturdy MP to open our event and have the fantastic "iCALLSHOTGUN." from York headlining our stage this year.
The event is all in aid of the local charity to help raise funds for the community sports and recreation centre. Year on year the success of this event is making big differences to the communities facilities. The event is always well supported by the local people in York and further a field and attendance keeps on growing. We are very exited to open our gates to you on Saturday 3rd July for a full day of family entertainment and live music & entertainment from our big festival stage!

The countdown has begun to this year’s Copmanthorpe Carnival, when live music will be combined with fun for all the family. Thousands of carnival-goers are expected to flock to the annual event, which will be held on Saturday, July 3, at Copmanthorpe Recreation Centre. The festival has attracted a top line-up of acts, including headliners iCALLSHOTGUN, who have previously been chosen as Radio 1’s band of the day. With England gripped by World Cup fever, the carnival organisers have decided to give the event a World Cup Nations Of The World theme. Neil Barnes, of Benenden Healthcare Society, which is sponsoring the event, said: "The Copmanthorpe Carnival is a fantastic event for all the family, so we’re really pleased to be supporting it. Good local sports facilities are vital to encouraging good health and wellbeing and this is really important to Benenden Healthcare."

Elliot Minor wows Copmanthorpe Carnival crowd. POP stars Elliot Minor were the major attraction, as festival-goers lapped up the sunshine in York. The third annual Copmanthorpe Carnival took place on Saturday, with live music, football and arts among the draws. About 4,000 people converged on the village to enjoy the party atmosphere. York band Elliot Minor were the headline act, ahead of their UK tour this summer. Laura Sledmore, one of the organisers, said: “It was an absolutely massive success for us. There were record crowds; it’s never been so popular. "Everyone had a really great time and the feel of the show was fantastic. Lots of people had picnics on the lawn, lots had a great family day out and we had music fans there as well."

Benenden Healthcare is set to promote its message of health and wellbeing to the York community as main sponsors of the popular Copmanthorpe Carnival on 3 July this year. New Media & Community Relations Executive, Neil Barnes said: ‘Copmanthorpe Carnival is a fantastic local event both for music lovers and for all the family. What better way to promote our strong message of good health and wellbeing than at an event which does that very same thing?’ Benenden Healthcare will be highly visible at the event with branding and a stall.
The event which began life 39 years ago has undergone a transformation and hopes to become something of a showcase for up and coming local bands.
