Appleton Roebuck Loop

Copmanthorpe - Colton - Appleton Roebuck - Acaster Crossroads - Copmanthorpe

A 10 mile (exactly) loop. Very flat, with the nearest thing to a hill coming when you cross the railway. The halfway point is the pleasant village of Appleton Roebuck.

Take School Lane and Manor Heath. Turn left on to Colton Lane. Follow the twists and turns to Colton. Continue through Colton and turn left at the T-Junction following the sign to Appleton Roebuck. Cycle over the two railway bridges and see if you can spot any trainspotters.

The road takes you through Appleton Roebuck with a couple of sharp bends as you pass the green and cross the stream. Continue on the road for a couple of miles and shortly after a right angle bend to the right take the left turn signposted for Bishopthorpe. After a mile you will approach Acaster Crossroads. Take the left turn to Copmanthorpe.

You will shortly pass the village sign of Copmanthorpe, but you still have another mile until you reach the junction of Station Road, Main Street and Moor Lane. Turn right at the junction to complete the ride into the village centre.
