Copmanthorpe's Coffee Shop

CakeThe Place and the People

The annexe coffee shop is a long awaited, and welcome addition to the community of Copmanthorpe. A place to recharge, reflect and relax in the heart of the village, with friends, with strangers, or in a quiet corner on your own.

Plans for a coffee shop have been in development for over a decade, with venues such as the old post office and former Costcutter supermarket considered. But it was a chance conversation with Paul the proprietor of the Newsagent that lead to the identification of an opportunity to annexe a building onto the existing village hub. A perfect way to connect the source of news and information, with somewhere to relax and enjoy it.

Chris and Sarah Sharp have lived in Copmanthorpe for over 20 years. Our ambition to set up and run a coffee shop has grown out our many years of community involvement. We have led several Youth and Children's clubs in the area, and Chris has been on the Copmanthorpe Carnival committee since 2001. Our staff may be familiar faces, they all live locally.

In addition to the coffee shop itself, we were also driven by the desire to provide a warm and homely environment for public and private gatherings.
